The Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

WIC serves pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants, and children under age five. With WIC you can receive checks for up to $50 to buy healthy foods such as milk, cheese, cereal, peanut butter, eggs, dried beans and juice at your local grocery store. Infant formula can also be purchased. WIC also provides services such as nutrition education and breastfeeding support.

The WIC program uses your family’s monthly income and nutritional need to see if you are eligible. Your family may be eligible even if you are working, in the military, a single parent, or receiving Basic Food (food stamps). Getting WIC will not affect your immigration status. WIC is an equal opportunity program.
